I mostly listen to instrumental songs like most Joe Satriani and Jake Shimabukuro depends on the mood. Songs with vocal tend to disturb with my concentration.

My friend just given me a track that that is over an hour long that has the calm sound of the ocean waves and wind breezes. He says it's better for concentration and I say it did help

Another friend said he listens to Meshuga. Imagine that!

R.I.P. Ronnie James Dio. Supplied amazing music to both me and my mother.

At the moment, the Fleet Foxes album is the main thing I listen to when I'm working. And the rest of the time, too.

I used to listen to a lot of jazz and blues when I was at uni, although when I was writing about Sarah Kane I stuck on some black metal to get the right ambience. Nothing goes with extreme theatre quite like four guys in corpse paint who recorded their album by hanging a tape recorder from gym ceiling....

Aphex Twin is awesome. Although studying to Come To Daddy could get a little distracting to say the least.

Recently its been either My Arms Your Hearse or Death Magnetic. I really like both of them, and I can sing along too. Relaxes me, if you will.

Depends. If I'm trying to learn something then usually nothing, or something chilled like Pink Floyd. If I'm trying to DO work, like write a big report or something, it could be anything.

Steel Panther's album got me through the 8-page report i wrote the other day

I don't listen to anything while studying because I need to actually concentrate. I can't read, process what I'm reading, listen to a song and process the song in my head all at the same time.
#28
Whatever i am in the mood for really, i can't really write an essay or anything without music, otherwise my mind will wander, quite an odd way but thats how it is, but when i want to relax in general i listen to a bit of Claude Debussy (listening to him right now) or Newton Faulkner.

Ha! I actually do get to listen to Pearl Jam at my work, I get to plug my ipod into the Ihome thing we got back there and listen to anything I deem appropriate.

+1

also, sometimes I listen to stuff that I don't really like, so I will want to get done faster, and not pay attention to it and just have it drown out other noises, like dragonforce or something

Well, the other day I was listening to Weezer and Flogging Molly.

But I wasn't studying. I was researching for a paper I am writing. I don't usually listen to music while studying.
