I need a high gain distortion pedal and I'm looking at a few on Ebay but would appreciate some advice on which way to go. I know the Blackstar DistX is good and the cheapest I can find that is £75. I also know that Hardwire pedals are very good and I've found one available for £65. The other option I'm looking at is a Metal Muff. I don't think it's as good as the other two but then again, they seem to be available for only about £30 so I suppose it boils down to whether the other two are really worth twice the money. Any ideas?

Personally i don't like the metal muff i think it sounds too harsh. I've heard good things about the blackstar and the hardwire but i have no first hand experience with either of them. Also check out the Barber dirty bomb

Must be why the Metal Muffs are so cheap! I've heard good things about Blackstar but never tried one. I already own a Hardwire Delay and Chorus so I know they're good quality.
