Has anyone A/B'd these two pedals?

I just want your opinions on them.

How does the Boy hold up against the man tone-wise? What about versatility? Can you get as much texture/creativity/insanity out of the boy, or nearly as much?

And, most importantly, do you think that the $200 more for the Man is worth it?

If money wasn't an issue, I would instantly go with the Memory Man.

[quote="'[BurnTheDusk"]']Boss pedals may be built like tanks but I would rather buy a cardboard box that is on my side than pay for a tank that is working against me.

If you're concerned about versatility and craziness, I'd wait for the new Deluxe Memory Boy. It has tap tempo and a few other interesting features not present in most analog delays. Street price is rumoured to be $180.

Now THAT sounds interesting...

Well I guess I'll have to wait and see how it compares to the other two now.

EDIT:

On the deluxe boy, how does the FX loop built into it work? It's supposed to make your other pedals keep in time with it?

Another thing: the newer Memory Men don't sound as good as the older ones because they stopped using the NOS Panasonic chips, so try to find one in the older enclosure if you can.

I was looking into the old one used originally, then I heard all this hubbub about the boy and the new man and the blah blah blah...

What about the depth knob that they added to the new man? Not worth it, huh?
