I was wondering if I could get Steve Vai type sounds out of an Egnater Rebel 20? I am trying to buy a new amp and I am considering this. I also want classic rock and blues sounds out of it. (From like Queen to Zeppelin) I was also wondering if a Carvin Legacy could get the classic rock sounds (and Vai's, but thats a no-brainer)
I'll pretend I can mod your amp but break it instead.

not from the egnater. it's too "fizzy". i'd go with the blackstar 5w amp or a peavey classic plus an OD.

If you have the cash for a Legacy, why are you planning to get an egnater?

Also, how good is the Carvin SX300H? In relation to the sounds I want, etc?

EDIT: Wait is it even a tube amp?
Also, what about the Carvin V3, or X100B?

they are all great amps, but they are like $700 used. the egnater is like $400 new. if you have 700, why settle at $400? If you can get any of those and a decent cab, get them. they are ALL great. the V3 might actually have too much gain for you, but it's still an awesome amp.

Carvin tube amplifiers are all first-rate, but the SX solid state amplifiers that I played were pretty noisy. Stick with the tube amps, even if you have to put off buying one until you can save the cash.
