first im interested in playing stuff like buckethead, bloc party, circa survive...stuff like that

im trying to decide between the dd-7/6 or the dd-20

..it seems like the dd-20 is usually the same price as the dd-7 on ebay so it seems to me why not get the one with more features...but i heard that it can rob tone and sounds more digital than the dd-7

The DL4 is better than the DD-20. It's not as noisy, it has true bypass, and the looper is MUCH better.

It hasn't happened to mine. As far as I can tell it's solid as hell.

DD-7 personally, the DD-20 is monstrously big, and doesn't include the features that I want in a delay as compared to the DD-7.

I say go for the DL-4. If you're concerned about reliability, you can get it modded by Drasp or Keeley.

consider the hardwire dl8 too, it's pretty awesome

This. I just got one and it's sounds fantastic. True bypass and tons of flexibility, definitely worth checking out.

Yeah it can, 40 seconds worth, the DD-20 is 20 seconds.

both the guitarists from Circa Survive use the Dl4. so that would probably be a safe bet. plus, it has a massive amount of options on it

Well, UG 6-9 months ago: MXR Carbon Copy
UG 3-5 months ago: Nova Repeater
UG now-3 months ago: DD-whatever

My fav (and also the one I chose to drop the cash on): The Hardwire DL-8.

Circa Survive use Boss Delay and Line 6 delay.
The DD7has an astounding looper!
Until just recently I had it just for its looping ability.
It makes a great delay too, but I have 2 other delays so I used it for a looper.
Now that I have a RC20xl I can sell it, it's always your choise but If you decide the DD7 I'm willing to make a good deal, brand new in the box, 4 -5 non-paint removing scratches that honestly could be washed into submission.

i have a dd-20.

don't get it. sucks tone real bad. at least to my ears.

dunno about dd-7 but i won't bother looking into boss pedals again.

I am going to keep recommending the Deluxe Memory Boy.

I have a DD-20 and have not noticed any tone suck after very extensive use, but if there's tone suck it's going to be in the entire DD series.

how can you recommend a pedal that hasn't even been released?
#26
Id go with the DD-7 all day. used in conjunction with an RV5 and some light chorus and you have a stellar tone clean or distorted. but if you are worried about having your tone "drained" do not I repeat DO NOT go Line 6. If their pedals are at all like their amps you will get a very bland very genric tone and likely wont be able to even recognize it as your own rig.
