Hey, I sat here listening to Nightwish and thought how the bandmembers fit so excellently! Any other band that you think has got a "perfect" line up?

I mean like, bandmembers who are great outside the band and superb when playing in the specific band

Some are imo Nightwish, Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd!

Beatles? I'll admit Ringo was sub-standard without the rest, but still John, Paul and George were great

Pink floyd is a poor example.. They made great music but it was grudgingly and they did not get along at all.

Foo Fighters.

Dave had Nirvana/has Them Crooked Vultures
Nate had/has Sunny Day Real Estate
Taylor... gah... I can't remember who he played for prior to joining. I want to say Hole or No Doubt, but I know it's neither of those. XD. Point is, a big name band.
Chris had Me First and the Gimme Gimmes.

They are all great separate, and epic together.

John Butler Trio. Not the current line up, but the one that just broke up. They were awe-inspiring.

Also, not sure if this counts as a line up, but the collab between Jake Cinninger and Matthew Santos for "On The Radio" (on Matthew's myspace) was SPOT ON PERFECT.

Bon Jovi, not in ALL there songs though. But when they get a good one like it's my life, runaway, livin' on a prayer, have a nice day, or Shot through the heart- Richie and Jon work perfectly together with the cool pauses and things, the drummer also does a great job (Tico Torres I think). You can really get into their songs.

YES some of their songs suck. I know.

ITT: Post your favorite band

I'ma buck the trend here and say Queen. Not a huge fan myself, but they had an extremely talented vocalist, guitarist, bassist, and drummer, and all four members were capable of singing lead vocals if necessary.

Most of the bands people have been posting have a weak point or two (The Who - shitty vocalist, Metallica - shitty drummer, just to name two). I was under the assumption that this thread was about bands that couldn't be improved by switching out members or anything. Ditching Lars for a better drummer, IMO, would make Metallica more enjoyable to listen to, hence, not perfect.
