Hey UG..

Ok so... I recently tried an ENGL Fireball... (hence my sig...) and I didn't have enough time with it.. but I'm seriously GASing right now...

And I just wanted to know how good the Noise Gate is on those babies?? Or would I have to get an ISP Decimator so I can preserve my tone??

So as always.. I put my faith in the hands of the GG&A.

Thanks UG

I use a Isp with my powerball as well as the inbuilt noise gate. From my experience the inbuilt seems to get rid of preamp gain hum, that's about it. It's too harsh to use for the guitar, it seems to choke the notes quite easily. Which is where ISP comes in handy.

So, what your saying is use both?? The built in one for Pre-amp hum, and the ISP for guitar noise??

I don't think the Fireball has a noise"gate". It's more of a non adjustable built in noise reduction circuit that reduces preamp hiss and hum.
It has no gating or clamping capabilities.
If you want to stop feedback, you'll need to run a Decimator in front of the amp.
