hey lads

I wanna play some much softer stuff (mostly blues) and my current main guitar (ESP LTD Alexi200) is geared towards my death metal playing side

basically im looking to buy something like a squier strat, stick some new pickups in it and give it a nice homemade paintjob

im looking for your opinion on what guitar i should get (keep it nice and cheap) and your fave pickups clean/soft overdrive bluesy stuff

thanks

and sorry for posting this in guitar first time round :P

squire affinity, change the wiring to one switch per pickup, add a killswitch, change tuners for locking, and maybew look into a set of vintage noiseless singlecoil pickups

sounds great. dont even need new pups with a vintage modified one, they sound great.
if not, buy a standard and some fender 50's pups (i think theyre 100$ ish), they sound great.

modern squier strats are the worst "legit" guitars ever made. they're terrible, just terrible. but since you're customizing it, it could come out alright.

^that's just idiotic.

squires are actually wonderful guitars once set up correctly and their necks are great.

Plus they are an excellent canvas for modification.
