Yup. The lead electric part was recorded by Clapton. Almost definitely not finger picked, but I don't recall how that particular tone was achieved.

im also fairly certain that recording session is where clapton met george harrison's wife, who the song layla is for/about.

but yeah, dont think it is finger picked. havent looked at it in a while, but after a quick glance at the tab it looks like everything would be flatpicked there.
