Ok, does any one know of any software that I can use to download my Gmail mails and chats on to my PC so I can then delete them from my Gmail account and yet have a copy on my PC?

Help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I dunno do any of the mail clients like thunderbird take care of the instant messaging, but they definitely keep copies of the email. Although, imo it makes more sense to leave a copy of your mail in the gmail account and delete em off your computer, but thats just me.

Some multi protocol IM clients support google talk afaik, and i assume you could configure them to save conversations. Try pidgin, that seems to cover nearly everything
