You'll find whisky very different, but try it and you'll grow into it, soon you and whisky are one, but still two, lovers dancing across a frozen lake under moonlight, wrapped in honey and warmth.

Sums up whisky perfectly

Can you buy used?
Do you gig?
How versatile do you mean? Like from fender cleans to death metal or like a normal rock-metal amp?

Well, for that kind of money your going to need to go used if you want a nice amp that can do all that.

If you really want a new amp I'm going to recommend the regular: peavey valveking (112 and do the normal mods), bugera (maybe one of the V series, the 626* series will be way to metal, maybe a small tube amp (ht-5, nighttrain, tiny terror) but I think this will be a little over budget and clubs normally don't mice up your amp.

yeah, something like a valveking or similar. the valvepower's great, but it's not all that versatile.
I'm an idiot and I accidentally clicked the "Remove all subscriptions" button. If it seems like I'm ignoring you, I'm not, I'm just no longer subscribed to the thread. If you quote me or do the @user thing at me, hopefully it'll notify me through my notifications and I'll get back to you.

I'll have to put the Classic T models on my to-try list. Shame the finish options there are Anachronism Gold, Nuclear Waste and Aged Clown, because in principle the plaintop is right up my alley.

Presumably because the CCF (Combined Corksniffing Forces) of MLP and Gibson forums would rise up against them, plunging the land into war.

I am selling a Peavey Valveking 212 in GREAT condition with upgraded speakers (Eminence Texas Heat and Celestion Vintage 30) and a footswitch. It is on ebay. It is versatile and is in your price range.

I notice you list a Peavey Vypyr in your gear. Have you tired any of the Vox modeling amps? They might be what you are looking for.
