never tried it but googled it. 5-6 mins in boiling water for bass strings. 1-2 mins for guitar strings.

I have bad experience boiling strings... I recommend soaking them in denatured alcohol for 12 to 24 hours instead.

While I can't be sure, I would think that boiling any coated string would ruin the coating material.
