My cousin bought this marshall amp for 50$ to use for his electric drums. Just tried it out and it sounds AMAZING. This thing is sounds very close to the gnr appetite for destruction sound.

Here is a video clip of it, playing sweet child o mine with my SG.

Any idea what kind of marshall this can be ? It's not a tube amp, the only text we can find on it says "Marshall anniversery".

Proof that transistor/solid state amps can be amazing

Any pics or anything, cause that's quite dark.

It sounds a little... to sharp to me

but i'm not very good with tones
#5
It's a little too sharp. You can hear the pick scratching way too much. Try turning the control knob down a bit more...cut some of the tone off of the sharper pickup.

Because seriously, other than that, it's perfect.

Also, perhaps its the microphone being used.

And i have no idea what kind of amp it is. I'm in a similar boat with mine.
Yeah, uh-huh...that's what they all say.

Amazing tone from a $50 amp!
I commented on your video by the way, I'm SlashGnR09. Watch my vids if you want to

Yeah, what the guys said, maybe turn down the Treble just a little bit and it'll be perfect.

It looks like a late 80's solid state Marshall. There should be a model number on the back somewhere, nice score for $50.

You CAN play anything with anything....but some guitars sound right for some things, and not for others. Single coils sound retarded for metal, though those who are apeshit about harpsichord probably beg to differ.

steal the amp and the jem!

I love how half of everyone's replies are just complimenting the tone rather than answering the question, and how I'm being hypocritical by having an equally useless reply :P

You must start a band now! call yourself something original, like Pistols & Tulips or something

Yeah i was using the SG, man imagine that amp with a Les paul
#23
This guy just cut and looped the intro off the cd and took a video of the amp. There is no mic in the video and there is no camcorder that would pick up tone that sounded like that and no video of him playing.
#24
I thought that also, but you can hear the sound change as he's moving the camera and there is a very slight mistake heard also. Some camcorder mics are good and he didn't have to be playing it loud.
