ok, so im wanting a fuzz face since i already have a big muff and i wanna get the other side of the fuzz equation. now i know i want something with the smoother sounding germanium transistors, so im looking at the mjm london fuzz, or maybe a general guitar gadgets or byoc kit, or maybe this one? http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=200405431271&ssPageName=STRK:MEBOFFX:IT

I came up with this kick ass riff on my ukelele when I was 12. Find out two years later, it was smoke on the water. Got my hopes and dreams killed..

I just got a Sun Face (with the NKT's) from Analogman.com, it was kind of expensive but it was worth every penny.
Gear:
Fender Stratocaster
Silvertone 1448L
TC Electronic Polytune
Fender Blues Jr.

You'll find whisky very different, but try it and you'll grow into it, soon you and whisky are one, but still two, lovers dancing across a frozen lake under moonlight, wrapped in honey and warmth.

Sums up whisky perfectly

that looks really nice, but hows it compare to a mjm?

ya but the mjm is like 175 versus 55 pounds for madebymike. is the mjm worth more than three times the price?

as far as i'm concerned, for the price of a made by mike pedal, you might as well have a pedal Made By Yourself.

but i'm a huge fan of DIY, especially with something as widespread/known as the fuzz face.

the one you linked on ebay is nothing at all like a fuzzface.

i would go with the London Fuzz, one of the best fuzzes ive ever heard. actually sounds better than the couple of original fuzz faces ive heard.

as far as building one yourself, normally i would be all for DIY pedals, however fuzz pedals are extremely temperamental and (imo) rarely sound that good with the slightly cheap parts that come in kits.

sucks. mjm uses very carefully matched transistors and has excellent build quality. i don't see the appeal to this made by mike stuff. listen to the youtube demos of both:

Holy shit!

That London fuzz sounds awesome!!

LOVE the really saturated fuzz thing it has going on.

Edit: What the ****!
The filter is off?

Re-Edit: It's not
