I just bought a pack of ernie ball heavy bottoms low tops, and i want to change the strings on my guitar to them. If i have light strings installed, am i going to have to adjust the truss rod or intonation?

and how would i adjust the truss rod?

this should be in the electric guitar forum...and just go to the ultimate setup thread anyway. they have all this information in their FAQ.

Intonation will likely need a little tinkering with

I'm not experienced with the truss rod, I THINK that will need adjusting only if you're gonna tune to a lower tuning. Really unsure though

no you have to adjust the truss even if you are staying in standard tuning because of the change of tension on the neck.

to TS: if you are not comfortable adjusting the truss rod or intonation, take it to a professional. the only thing we can do is give you general advice, since every guitar is different we can't really help with specifics.
