These should be around that price range on the used market.

assuming you're in the Us, a second hand korean made dot, made before 03... i think it was around 03 onwards that their quality began to slip. just got me a 2000 korean dot for 555 aust dollars its heaven. good luck

Buy a Xaviere semi hollow tele with P90 pups. I love mine, and in the right hands with the right amp and effects, it can be made to sound like god having sweet lesbian sex with Angelina Jolie. +2

The only place that sells it is guitarfetish.com though, but it's only around 200$ so you still have a lot of money left over for random shit to upgrade it although, stock, it's still amazing.

ibanez as73 it's 400, and the transparent cherry looks great. for some reason the ibby version on the 335 has a slightly different body shape than the epiphone. i think the ibanez looks much better imo.

epiphone dot. easily the best guitar epi makes (other than elitist line of course).

and to answer "jimzer", i have an '07 dot and its great. every guitar is different but their is no significant degrading quality in korean epis.

I find ibanez artcores to be great for that price range. They're really good guitars.

I've tried an epiphone dot and epiphone sheraton side by side, and I liked the sheraton more.

Go try them all out in a local store and see which one you like the most.
Gear:
'50s National Archtop
Squier Classic Vibe '60s Tele
Squier Affinity Strat
Gibson Melody Maker
Vox AC-15
50s Stella Parlor Acoustic

Ibanez Artcores are great bang for your buck semi-hollows. I love 'em. I'd recommend them over an epi dot any day. If you can get your hands on a sheraton for cheap that would be nice.

Props to Axis177 for the Xavier bump. They're a factory direct guitar company out of Massachusetts who can get you basically any guitar style you want with top quality wood, features and ghs pickups for under $350

Listing of Xavieres /\

They also have an ES-330 copy (Or Casino, Dot, whatever you want to call it) if you don't want a Tele. And I just noticed they have an (almost) Firebird or explorer copy that looks pretty tasty.... But yeah, like Lunatic said, top quality for a low price. I've dropped my Tele on concrete at one point from 3 feet and it still plays great.
