nipped in the bud when her lips decided
to part with accustomed ease
pretending the fiction that fell off her grin
signalled the start of a beautiful thing

it doesn't take much to detect the trickery
the manipulation of her tongue
gliding along the roof of your mouth

slipped straight to the heart
don't you think it's art?

it's only a fool like me
that's left chewing the cud
staring straight... at her

do you recognise the blip in the system
the flush of her cheeks as she motors
a twitch of her eyelid, and the tone of her voice
is a little less certain than I remember
there's her tongue gliding along the roof of your mouth
sliced in half

slipping toward your heart

and it's only a fool like you
that's left chewing the cud
staring straight
staring straight
staring straight
at a fool like me
left chewing the cud
staring straight... at her

it's only a fool like me
that's left chewing the cud
staring straight at a fool like you
fool like you
staring straight at a fool like me
full of her
and staring straight... into space

This piece was pretty cool. Clear message and nice imagery. I liked the tongue/mouth motif used throughout the work and the consistent flow. Awesome

The best part

pretending the fiction that fell off her grin
signalled the start of a beautiful thing

"don't you think it's art?"
I felt like some sarcasm was missing
