I need a new distortion pedal and I've narrowed it down to the Radial Tonebone Hot British or Radial Tonebone Plexitube.

I'm looking for something that'll do U2, Van Halen, modern punk stuff, Metallica, Satriani, and some Gilbert stuff as well. Which would be better for my musical taste?

Both should work well, but the hot british would probably be better.

Why the Hot British and not the Plexitube? Would the Hot British be able to do Metallica?

Well Kirk Hammet uses the Hot British nowadays, so I guess it can do Mettalica

I am guessing that the Hot British has more gain (Hot British being hotrodded Marshall as opposed to Plexitube being a plexi).

[quote="'[BurnTheDusk"]']Boss pedals may be built like tanks but I would rather buy a cardboard box that is on my side than pay for a tank that is working against me.

Well I guess good enough for Hammett is good enough for me.

I think I'll go for the Hot British and save $100. My original budget was $200 anyway, my first choice being the Jemini but I think I'll go with the Hot British instead.
