Well, I was in Nashville this weekend visiting family for Thanksgiving, so for Black Friday I went to Sam Ash with my cousin. I promised myself I would save my money for more important things, but here I go again.......

Hmm, cheesy early 90's looks, anyone recognize this ugly SOB from St Louis?

It's a Crate GX 1600, which is pretty much a 160 watt Ampeg VH-150 clone!

I walked into Sam Ash and sat down and played this at first, not expecting much from $150 Crate SS. Well, I played some JCMs, JVMs, XXXs, Bugera's, and even a 6505+, but I kept coming back to this monster. So, I did a little investigating on it and realized what amp it was very similar to and jumped on it immediatly. Stock amp to stock amp, it crushes the Valveking. The VK is keeping its spot as my number 1 only because of the work I've done to it.

And I just realized I never did a NAD for this, so

Whoever recognizes this logo now deserves a cookie.

A CGM 4x12 I've loaded with WGS V30s and Eminence Man O wars in an X pattern. Comprable to a Krankenstien cab IMO. Makes both VK and Crate sound killer.

HMM, whats this? Haven't I had enough for one weekend?

What could be in this?

OOHH, colorful!

An exact replica of EVHs Kramer, custom built. I swapped my cousin my white Dean V for it. It came with a SKB hard case. BARGAIN!!

I wouldn't call that an 'exact' replica tho

I guess you could argue that, without having an old gibson pup rewound like Eddies and a mid 80s Floyd, nothing is an exact replica. But every stripe and shape is placed exactly like the original. I don't care though, I love the way this thing plays, although I barely know any Van Halen

But, you're missing the famous quarter man!

I still want to make my own build some day.

You're thinking of a different guitar. Frankenstein had the quarter. None of his 5150 Kramers did.

HNGD! I'm loving that guitar, I wish I could find something similar... even just for the looks, I don't care how it sounds!

Well, I've got the means to record clips now. Check back in a little bit if you're interested!

EDIT: Here's clips, using the new guitar and amp. They're quick and not that great, but you get the idea of what the amp sounds like.
