Or

Epiphone Les Paul Special 2
http://www.imuso.co.uk/Information-Menu/Reviews/Electric-Guitar-Reviews/13338-/Review-of-the-Epiphone-Les-Paul-Special-2-Electric-Guitar

I am new to guitar completely and am wondering what is best to start with.
My guitar influence is from Slash, so I will most likely be playing his sort of blues rock.

Trust me and hurry up to guitar center there is one particular
guitar you must find for a mega deal. The Schecter C1+
was on sale for 399 and use to cost 650 so it was marked
down!! you can change the pickups on it but you get a high
quality ALL mahogany guitar even neck no maple, and it
sounds pretty amazing stock but even better with different pickups

I got the color thats not available on the web site but all the gutiarcenters
carry the one I got

Honestly this thing can play anything from Jazz to Drop-A mind you having
the right gauge strings, the intonation hasn't been a problem

The 24.75 scale makes it really great for small people like me
that a les paul hurts them to play, the intonation was a "tiny"
bit off on Drop-G but hey no use going that far

Also, this guitar made a long time Ernie ball fan into a D'Addario fan

This one sounds better than all the ones listed and is a mahogany neck and body
for thru for only $400 as its on sale at guitar center saving 300 dollars there
with it marked down to make room for new models
Ibanez AEL10E BLK- W/ Graph Tech Nut, Saddle and Pins
Duncan Woody XL Pickup w/ stock fishman EQ

Gain boost Switch
11-14-21w-38w-49w-60w D'Addario strings

You CAN play anything with anything....but some guitars sound right for some things, and not for others. Single coils sound retarded for metal, though those who are apeshit about harpsichord probably beg to differ.

I guarantee it's better than the Special II - that thing is barely better than most knockoffs.
