Hi there, Gear forum.

Ok so my problem is, i use a DD3 for delays and for cleans it's great, but when i'm running distortion before it i get a really ugly digital, clippy, farty noise on the repeats, is this the pedal clipping? Or to do with the pedal overdriving my amp? I run a tiny terror so not much clean headroom.

Wondered if anyone had any thoughts?

Your delays are being overdriven by the amp. It needs to be in an effects loop to function best.

try to cranck up the volume of your amp or use (if both are available) the high output jack instead of the low one.
Im not really into orange amps but if it has a loop then use it. btw Make sure you are using decent cables .

Yes, well the signal chain.

Also check the battery. I have seen digital delays do funky stuff with dying batteries.
