You CAN play anything with anything....but some guitars sound right for some things, and not for others. Single coils sound retarded for metal, though those who are apeshit about harpsichord probably beg to differ.

Meh, its okay at best!! I wouldn't even use it as a beginner guitar
due to not liking basswood!!

I would make sure it fits your body to, I once liked how les pauls looked
but after trying them out I discovered they HURT my chest to play.

I'd say you'd have to spend at least 345 for a decent guitar!!
I got my Schecter C1 Plus here recently for only $400
and its a mahogany body and neck thru body
a $900 guitar that guitar center has on mega sale

But if you insist on getting a cheaper guitar, you can always
boost it with an EQ and get a bassy pickup like SH-8 invader
Ibanez AEL10E BLK- W/ Graph Tech Nut, Saddle and Pins
Duncan Woody XL Pickup w/ stock fishman EQ

Schecter C1+ Darksunburst w/ SH-4 (N) & SH-6 (B) 24.75"
Gain boost Switch
11-14-21w-38w-49w-60w D'Addario strings

Lightning, checkout www.rondomusic.com and have a looksee at some Agile guitars. They are worth every penny, but they are guitars that people have different opinions of so if you have access to one at a shop or something try it out.

For the EC-50 it's very good first electric guitar. =)

I see you're from Portugal. So, ignore rondomusic - the import fees will mean you'll end up paying far more than the guitar is worth.

Try looking into Vintage guitars. They're the European equivilent of the guitars rondomusic sells. They're pretty good - certainly much better than that EC-50 - and shouldn't cost too much, not sure on their prices for you but here in the UK they cost about £220 for their top Les Paul model that is better than any Epiphone, Agile or LTD model.
Yes, I know everything. No, I can't play worth a damn.
