Would playing a guitar with bass effects sound ok?
Specifically, a Squier Strat with the Boss ME-20B.
#2
Yes, it will sound fine.

Boss pedals are generally pretty good. Some of the newer ones sound pretty average stock and may have a substandard bypass, but plenty of the older Boss pedals are wonderful.

I'm pretty sure it's a newer one.

I'm just looking for a bass mfx for about $200 or less.
Just going through Guitar Center's website I also saw the DigiTech BP200,
but I haven't looked into that at all yet.

does it need to be a bass pedal?

whats your amp btw...
oh i got my pod 2.0 for 199$, 215$ with warranty, and its pretty damn good

I mostly play bass, and just mess around with guitar sometimes,
but I've been getting into surf and really like the reverb sound.
That's my main concern for playing guitar through it,
but it would be really cool if the other stuff worked too.

I have a cheap little Ibanez GT10 DX guitar amp, and an Ibanez Sound Wave 100 bass amp.

well guitar will sound fine through it, i dont know how your amps are, but maybe you should look into upgrading those instead.

a new amp does much more for tone than a shiny new stompbox

but if you just want multi fx id deffinately go for the boss ones(coming from me lol)
they make really user freindly pedals, and the multi fx really are quality.

Well, I'm not too worried about my guitar amp, I rarely use it.
My bass amp is good enough for me, I mostly just play by myself anyway.
And I just got it not too long ago, I doubt my mom would get another

Most reviews for the Boss said it was easy to use even without looking at the manual.
I'll try to use some different ones too, but I only have a small music shop around me.

Thanks for the advice!
