I finished installing these into my strat today. I looked on fenders site for specs. They said put as high as I want allowing string vibration. I'm wondering if anyone has suggestions, I've been reading keep them low to get more of the woods tone, or keep them high for a crunchy sound. I'm looking to get a real good blues tone out of these. I run through a vox ac4tv.
Adjust until you find the height that gives you the tone you like the best.

the closer to the strings, the more sustain. also, the signal being stronger allows the strings to be louder, which also creates more noise. fiddle around with them until you find a good spot.

personally, i keep them as close as possible (hold down the highest fret and raise them until the pickups are just below)

I can't imagine anything worse than shagging to Mark Knopfler.

Maybe shagging Mark Knopfler, but that's about it.
