I want the Dunlop Fuzz Face. But i've heard mixed reviews. My max is $130. I don't want to make one myself either. My style is blues, rock, blues rock, jam band, psychedelic, hard rock, a little punk and southern rock. I would buy one hand made from people too like monsterpiece or something like that. Thanks.

If you want something that sounds like the Fuzz Face, but gets better reviews, check out the MXR Fuzz. I don't remember the model name, but it's basically a Fuzz Face.

^Not really for vintage fuzz sounds.

FF is based on 60's fuzz.

The fuzz factory wasn't based on any existing fuzz.
all I ever wanted was to pick apart the day
put the pieces back together my way

Yes, it was. I can pull out the schematic and show you how it is a modified fuzz face. Zvex himself has said it.

"The circuit is not modeled after any classic fuzz design, but should have been around when Leary was still lucid. "
Straight from his website.

It's a modified one...not exact values.
Here's only one of many web pages documenting this fact:

Well sorry, anyway back on topic, TS if you can find one used in your price range, I would go for it.
