Hi guys! Some of you guys probably remember me from my post from a couple of days ago asking about a new guitar. But from the advice, I think I'm just going to swap out the pickups from my guitar. The guitar I want to swap pickups with is a Schecter C-1 Plus.

I have two combinations set but I have no idea which one to choose from.

1)
SH-1 for the Neck (http://www.guitarcenter.com/Seymour-Duncan-SH-1-1959-Model-Electric-Guitar-Pickup-300010-i1127357.gc)

SH-4 for the Bridge (http://www.guitarcenter.com/Seymour-Duncan-SH-4-JB-Humbucker-Pickup-300035-i1127367.gc)

ORRRR

2)
SH-1 for the Neck (http://www.guitarcenter.com/Seymour-Duncan-SH-1-1959-Model-Electric-Guitar-Pickup-300010-i1127357.gc)

SH-6 for the Bridge (http://www.guitarcenter.com/Seymour-Duncan-SH-6-Distortion-Humbucker-Pickup-300042-i1127382.gc)

So basically SH-1/SH-4 or SH-1/SH-6.

As for the kind of music I play, I'd say experimental/alternative kind of stuff (ex) VersaEmerge - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZHcuczGY3tM&feature=rec-LGOUT-exp_stronger_r2-HM)

Thanks!

You want to buy the guitar and try it out for a long time before you swap the pups. You might actually like them. But I'd suggest the Seymour Duncan Hot Rodded pickup combo. $130, and its cheaper than buying them separate.

haha my bad. i think i worded that wrong. i've been playing through my Schecter C-1+ for almost two years now and just noticed recently how "dark" and muddy the stock pickups were. So I had two choices, to either swap the pickups or buy a new guitar- and so i decided to get new pickups

SH-1/SH-4.

Definitely. I've got em in my Jackson, very nice pickups. I don't know much about the SH-6 but the 1/4 combo is popular for a reason. It's very bright and versatile.

Great list Rutch. On re-reading this one I'd have to say Solid State means not liquid or gas.

I figured it out.

What amp are you using first?

The differences between the SH4, SH5 and SH6 lies in their voicing.

it's so cool to hate Gibson, even the federal Department of Justice hates them.

I'd really look at that hot rodded humbucker set from Seymour Duncan. I think its an SH-4 and a '59, though I could be way off. Don't quote me.

I recently got a chance to play a guitar fitted with the new DiMarzio 36th anniversary PAF pickups and those things are crazy good. I would take one of those over the SD '59 any day
