Hi,

Currently I'm using a "Peavey PV8 Live Mixer" + "Alesis GuitarLink AudioLink Series 1/4"-to-USB Cable" to record guitar/vocals to my pc. I feel this is quite a good method however I'd like less noise in the background. Also, in the near future I'd like to record my band which this setup is not gonna allow me to do. (in the genre acoustic/pop and rock)

So, I've been looking for a new setup for a while. What it should be able to do is record at least 8 tracks with low noise to my DAW (to different tracks). I've been looking at some different options but it's still a bit unclear to me what would give me the best results. The budget would be around 500 euro but I'm willing to save up some more if it's worth it. What I've been looking at are mixers like:
Phonic Helixboard FW18 MkII (url)
Allen & Heath Zed-24 (url)

Or an interface like:
Focusrite Saffire PRO 40 (url)
M-Audio ProFire 2626 (url)

For some reason my gut tells me the last two would give me a better result but I'm not sure if that's correct. What do you guys feel would give me the best result in recording?

Thx
