Hey, I recently bought a fernandes monterey deluxe, The guitar is mohangany, and comes loaded with a SD jazz neck and JB bridge, I am thinking about replacing the bridge pickup for something with some more output, I play lamb of god mostly and some metallica/trash stuff. I was think about either an SD invader, a motherbucker, or a dimarzio X2N, Any advice? Thanks guys

The Jb has plenty of output, what amp are you playing through?
Agile AL3000
Douglas WRL90
SX SR1 STD Plus
J&D Strat
Squier Tele
Sammick TR2
Douglas Draco
Peavey JSX
Bugera V5

Not the Invader or the X2N.

Maybe D Activator X?

Chris Adler uses a JB in the bridge and a '59 in the neck.

Mark Morton uses '59s in both the bridge and the neck.

There you go. No need to upgrade. Also: Dave Mustaine uses a JB as well as the livewires.

No... Sorry I am one of the biggest LoG fans out there, Mark Morton Doesn't use two 59's they come in his sig guitar, but he has always used a invader in the bridge position on all of his sigs.

Chris? Damn, where in his drumkit does he put them?

Oh, just below the toms... helps with the thumps!

My bad, I keep confusing Willie and Chris.

That would be a sight...the secret of my drum tone is this here Seymour Duncan JB. Well, LoG likes to use Mesa Boogie Mark IVs...dunno if that changed lately. As far as gain levels you should be set with that amp...it's just a different tone.

Well if you already know... there's your answer.

Personally speaking, changing your amp would have greater impact on your tone than a pickup change.

Also, using an Invader would probably be acceptable (but blasphemous) on a MkV, but not a 5150. In fact, of those 3 listed, Invaders or X2N with a 5150 wouldn't be the best of ideas.

If you want thrash, there are better choices around.

this.

and i think i recenly saw an ad where they made the switch to MkV's... but yes, they're known for MkIV's... Mark owns like half a dozen of them.

and for the love of god... or whatever works for you... don't run an invader through a 5150.

Except his sig has '59's?

I dunno, the pictures I've seen don't show him with an Invader.

The Invader is just muddy. If you don't believe me, I can show you a diagram detailing what it does.

uberproaudio lists one of his guitars as having Invaders... but hey if someone wants to insists that Mark uses Invaders and not '59 because he's a huge LOG fan, I ain't about that let that get in the way of advice.

Dude, that Invader diagram sounds like lulz, can I have a look at it.
