I've been using the Jazz lll's for about 20 years. I didn't think that it could be improved upon. Until today that is.
One of my students made a Jazz lll sized pick out of bone. It's way stiffer. And it seems to grab the note better, making them snap a little more.
There's my way and the wrong way.

i recently bought small ultex jazz IIIs and both red and black XL jazz IIIs. those are the only picks i care to use! id love the hear one made out of bone. seems like IF they started making those it would just be an excuse to charge more for them. might be too slick feeling for me too.

I like the black ones and the ultex ones too.
As for the slickness, he drilled some indentions on each side, so it doesn't slip.
