My grandfather plays the bagpipes as do I and we wanted to have a jam with guitar and pipes. The bagpipes themselves have pretty much no music theory involved so I have no idea what key they are in. What chords or key would be best to use with it??

Thanks

As my old guitar teacher once said: Metal really comes from classical music. The only difference is pinch harmonics, double bass, and lyrics about killing goats.

wrong.

to play along with guitar the pipes need to be tuned to 440 Bb. you would need a special chanter to be tuned to 440 A.

so. pipes, 440 Bb

guitar tuned down a 1/2 step or capo 1st
