Hey i was thinking about asking for a hardwire tl2 to get a bit more gain in my legacy.

Would it work good as a boost?. Does the TL2 work good with tube amps?

They'll work fine in tube amps, probably sound better actually.

It won't really work as a boost, it's a full-on metal distortion pedal. If you want a boost you'll have to get that separately.

couldnt i just set it on the lead channel turn the high lows and mids off and turn gain up and use the tight switch to get a more chunky metal sound?

No. The TL-2 packs a serious punch in terms of distortion. It's more for use over a clean channel.

If you're wanting just a bit more gain get an overdrive like the Digitech Bad Monkey, or the Danelectro Transparent OD.

I wish, it has ridiculous amounts of gain on tap.
