Go ahead and take a chance on me.
But I won’t promise you anything.
I’ll look for today, because I’ve already lost tomorrow.
With a voice so shallow and a heart so hollow.
I’ll still look for tomorrow
But I won’t promise myself anything.

Gentle, yet sharp words, they often leave me.
Now, I’ve come with little to bring.
Try not to forget me, but please.
Don’t promise me anything.
Cause all this, is apathy.
Forgive me if these verses sting.

I’ll take what I have and leave.
Maybe it’ll be some relief.
But I won’t make a promise I can’t keep.
I swear I won’t make a promise I cant keep.

And now I’m fathoms deep.
From holding a promise you couldn’t keep.
Compassion brings nothing but apathy.
And with a voice so shallow and a heart so hollow.
I can promise you, that I’ll find tomorrow.

Wrote it a long time ago, found it and figured I'd post.
