Hello tech-wise people,

I currently have an Acer Aspire 6930. It's quite a decent laptop, and I love almost everything about it, except for one thing. You see, the thing is I originally got it as a working laptop, so I didn't consider the graphics, but now that high school is over and I'm gaming on it, they are really sub par. I'm fine with all my other specs though.

3gb ddr2 ram, intel core 2 duo (2ghz) blah blah...

But for my graphics I have a Mobile Intel(R) 4 Series Express Chipset, integrated.

Now my question is whether or not I can upgrade that. I know that since it's integrated, I can't boost the graphics by itself, but from my understanding, would I be able to swap out the entire motherboard for something that has cool graphics processing (while also maybe kicking the CPU up another notch)?

Thanks for any help.

Some laptops with integrated GPUs still have an expansion area for a future deticated card. Unless your laptop has this, it will be far easier to buy a new laptop than to swap out the motherboard.
