My plans on getting a Mesa fell right out of my wallet, so once again I'm amp searching. A few I am interested in are MIDI switchable, and my POD X3 Live has MIDI input and output.

I have never used MIDI before. I would like to be able use MIDI to switch my amp and my POD channels at the same time, with only one button. So, one patch will turn to the amp's clean channel and my POD's channel A for a reverb and chorus loop, then the next patch will switch to the amps overdrive channel and the POD's channel B for a preamp modeler, and so on so forth. Is this possible?

Head and Cab for $130? You don't need a head and cabinet, you need a psychological examination.
