So could anyone recommend me some bands/ songs that are Melodic Death Metal that are in standard E or Drop D? Something like CoB would be the best. I've just retuned my guitar back to E from D and can't be bothered to tune it back again (its as floyd rose) because I'll be getting a ESP soon. I just wanna play something while w8ing for my ESP!

Arch Enemy - Marching On A Dead End Road

Don't know much melodeath in E. Lots of other metal in E, but no melodeath

EDIT: Why don't you just play CoB but then in E/Drop D instead of Drop C/D std. ?

Cuz it won't sound right. I do play thrash metal in E and Drop D but right now I'm just looking for something new

a lot of people practice that way.

Heck, you don't think i'll continuously detune and retune my guitar if I wanna play arch enemy, and satriani afterwards?

Besides, if it's only for a short while

You CAN play anything with anything....but some guitars sound right for some things, and not for others. Single coils sound retarded for metal, though those who are apeshit about harpsichord probably beg to differ.

It'll sound right if you use guitar pro or power tab and change the tunings.

Opeth is awesome but in no way melodic death metal.

Just play the songs in standard, it wont make that much of a difference if your just playing at home for fun.
