What tube amp would you suggest under 1000$?
preferably combo but others are fine too
My playing style is metalcore, so I mostly just want an awesome distorted sound
but good clean sound is important too as I play other types of music
This would be used mainly for recording and jamming with a drummer
but might be used for gigging in the near future
thanks

do you currently have a half stack? if so, then you'll only need to buy a head, making things easier
periphery/bulb!

gear:
Ibanez RG7321 w/ D-sonic in bridge

Peavey 5150 mk ii & b52 4x12 cab

line 6 podxt for recording

Head and Cab for $130? You don't need a head and cabinet, you need a psychological examination.

I have a marshall mg100hdfx head on a mg412 cab
altho this cab sucks balls
but im not so much worried about the whole being loud enough to play huge gigs side of things

Bugera (6260, 6262 or 333) or Randall (RH or RM, if you want cleans as well get the 50).

Not sure how much you can get in $s though...

he can do a lot better than Bugera for $1000 not that they're bad they're good for their price range but he has a decent budget. also i'll add on a used Mesa Mk4, you can sometimes find them for around $1000

In your price range and play style I'd recommend an FJA modded Bugera 6262 and secondly a Peavey 6505+/5150 II.

Pretty much exactly the tone you're looking for.
