In your opinion what are some songs out there in the world that everyone should like and that no one should hate.

for instance, I recently discovered this song
(its not a rickroll)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nsCXZczTQXo&feature=player_embedded

that and some other songs would be

Land of Confusion - Genesis
Cult of Personality - Living Colour
just about every RHCP song.

so yeah. GO

edit:
I am fully aware of peoples opinions. That doesn't really matter.
VERY METAL!

Oh wow, another pop song with no key changes, never leaves 4/4 time, has a grand total of maybe 2 accidentals and plays the same unoriginal melody so many times it is drilled into your brain. Can't help but like it, right?

You know, its not key changes and accidentals that make a song good. And 4/4 time is just as valid as 7/4 or anything else.

you're totally right. no song can be good if it stays in the same time and key signature the whole way through

You act like what you want to hear in music is the same as what others want to hear. I like unexpected things in music. I hate when i can listen to a song for the first time and say "aaaaaannndd...chorus.....and....drum fill.....now.....second verse." That's so boring to me.

I can agree with you to an extent, anybody can sing a pop song the first time hearing it. That however is the appeal of the music. Its something casual and simple for simple folk such as myself.

I respect progressive and classical artists because they really know what they are doing. I personally can't write a song thats not in 4/4 and over 3:00. I don't really care to though.
