The title pretty much explains it all, the gig is 4 hrs but the worst part is we are playing Christmas songs, the same 9 songs with 10 min breaks and we don't get any food or drink and its for a church...

Has anyone ever had a gig that they absolutely dreaded?...

Every gig.

If I don't have my music teacher backing me up and supporting me, me and my guitarist find it very hard to get motivated for gigs.

Maybe the price tag is clouding your judgment ?
yeah probably. Or the circuits.

That's one hell of a gig.

Well, on Christmas Eve, I've got a "four hour gig" of sorts (I think). I'm playing bass at my church for both services, but I don't remember if it's the standard hour long or if it's twice as long as normal. Either way, I've been preparing for about 2-3 months for it.

What?!?! Couldn't they set a plate with all of those delicious treats that lure me to spend an hour in their building each week for you?

They should at least give you a box of those delicious wafer thingies I always eat by the dozen whenever I find myself in a church.

On New Year's Eve I have to play a set lasting as long as we can play and the other guitarist is a Nazi when it comes to playing...We'll probably play from about 8:00 P.M. Dec. 31st to about 4:00 A.M. Jan. 1st
I have no sig!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, there was this one time in music college where we had around 2 hours to learn a whole song and perform it.....needless to say it didn't go so well.

edit, oh and the last gig I played with my old band, there was alot of tension because we all had a huge argument the week leading up to it.

You should play some Slayer, just because it's in a church.

Mutta silmissään viha polttava kuin kiuas tulinen

not a gig i have dreaded so much as a gig we were under-prepared for. just a covers gig, and we had technical problems from the get-go. meh, you just keep soldiering on and take in the rush of playing a gig.

but 4 hours? i'd bring some booze or porn or a combo of both for those 10 minute breaks.
