Is there some sort of a good cheap version of a Mesa Triple Rectifier I can buy?

Uh, the 333XL is a JSX clone. Nothing like a triple rec.

think he meant in terms of amount of gain
then again with 6l6s you could probably get triple rec esq tones
would just take a bit of eqing

The cheapest Triple Rec you could get would be a used Triple Rec.

Maybe try out other amps?

Rectos have their sound, but I'm convinced that a lot of people that buy them would prefer something that isn't a total bitch to dial in the one tone it does well. Most people I've seen with rectos just have that shitty fizzy badly setup recto sound, and they might as well have bought something that can be found at a good price used. I'm not trying to put Rectos down; at volume, a Recto in its sweet spot sounds like a Recto and nothing else, but too many times I hear such bad tones coming out of them it's insane.

Its called the doulbe rectifier, and theres a cheaper version of that as well, its called the single rectifier.

The bugera 333, 6262 and also, the peavey xxx which is discontinued, but there is always the 3120 as a replacment, but thats going up there with the big price tags....

Theres a MINT condition Dual Rectifier on HC for like $800
I've bought, sold, and traded more gear than I care to admit.
