I was watching Sean of the Dead recently, and I was curious as to the different accents used. To the American lay-person they all sounded "british," but I was wondering if you could identify some of the accents.

For example, the character David seemed to me to have an Irish accent.
Sean and Ed had different accents though. Could you help me out?

Irish =/= British, for one

Shaun has a typical, slightly well-spoken Southern accent, designed to show his status as a social misfit. Ed's accent is more colloquial, with a tinge of the West Country, another blunt instrument to denote his stereotypically 'lower' intelligence.

Sean and Liz seemed to have the same accent. But it's different from Ed's and his m8s.

He never asked why they have different accents, but I guess being quick to insult Americans is more important than reading comprehension.

Apparently Americans are hot for Irish accents...

Amirite?

Any American woman would f*ck any man who has an accent that's not American.

Prove me wrong.

Go to America. Walk into a bar. Find a group of hotties.
Walk up and say in your own accent, "Hi, my name is... I'm from (somewhere that's not America)"

If there not already blowing you, just keep talkin

Why is that? Just because we sound like pirates doesn't mean we're dumb

It's not neccesarily the accent it's just that people from the west are stereotyped as being less educated.

Well, I figured someone from the UK would know better than me, so that's why I asked.

And I realize now, it is Shaun, not "Sean".
