So my band (me, drummer, bassist, other guitar) are looking to get setup for practices in my drummer's basement, as well as small gigs down the road.

His dad owns a couple of bowling alleys, so he gets a lot of P.A. equipment for them. Sometimes he recycles them and gets new ones, and we ended up with a little equipment from that.

-Crest Audio VS1500 Power Amp

-2 SoundTech 12" Speakers

They look just like these:

-An old-school Ramsa mixer, that has 10 channels
Looks like this:

Plus I have a Behringer Xeynx 1204FX in my room that is my brothers.

Right now we are using the Ramsa to record drums, through a Yamaha recording station, but we can use it or the Behringer for P.A.

ANYWAY, how do we effectively use these things? Can we use the Power amp with the speakers at all?

ALSO, I've read that a band should get Moniters set up before getting actual P.A. speakers? How would we plug in say 2 moniters AND 2 speakers?

Sorry for the wall of text, thanks.

right Metallica is a given. Personally I like to pretend the bus exploded and killed them all in '86.

What was the question exactly? Do you want to set up a live sound, or practice in your drummers basement, or record? It sort of confused me the way you wrote it.

If you wanna practice, just lug all your shit down to his basement, plug it all in, turn it all up and start playing.

If you wanna play live, do the exact same thing, but turn up a bit louder, or mic yourself up to the PA of wherever you're playing (assuming it has one).

I don't see where this is complicated enough to have to ask the GG&A.

What I meant was how to physically hook up the power amp to the mixer to the speakers.
