I'm looking for a good amp to go with my Ibanez S5470 Prestige guitar. I play everything from Joe Satriani and EVH to simple rhythm guitar. So what I'm looking for is an amp that that cost under $650 but I am willing to save up if you recommend it. I need an amp with effects but if you think I should by them separate just tell me. The amp I'm looking at is a Line 6 Spider IV 150 combo. Please give your opinion.

Spiders=digital shit.

I'd stay away, they're only good for a small practice amp.

Vyper tube 60.

Tube tone and effects.

Or flextone or vetta.

Idr the prices so I'll be back lol

What about the Vyper tube 120? Its 120 watt instead of just the 60 and I can still afford it.

Are you giging?

120 TUBE watts is overkill for practice and maybe jamming.

I'd get the 60 and maybe buy a sanpera 2 footswitch, or sown other crap. Or save it, GAS will get you again soon

You named 3 good tube amps? There are 2 key words in that sentence that you may have misunderstood.

Why not the Peavey Valveking combos, the classic 30s, the tiny terror, little giant, laney lc50, etc. etc.

The Flextone and Vetta are SS, and the Vypyr isn't all-valve.

Actually, you're right; I didn't.

TS, you could get an all tube amp and then a multi-fx board like the GT-10 or the ME-70 or something for your effects; you'll get an overall better tone, I think.

MFX units and full tube amps dont always play nice.

if anything get a nice all tube and rune some pedals through it.

Even 30-50W would be enough to gig.

So, do you really think you need more than 60W?

I was looking at the peavey vyper 100 watt and noticed that if you buy it before January you get the Sanpera 1 for free I think that might just be what I'm going to do.

60 watts is almost overkill.

I think you're under rating watts. 60 watts= freaking loud when it comes to tubes (Peavey Vypyr 60 has power-amp tubes)

Save up for a Mesa Tripple Rec. Cant go wrong can cover any style of play with ease, little peddles needed and the quality and reliability are 2nd to none.
#18
Oh my bad lol I didn't know tube amps had more power I just thought they had better tone. So you think I should get the 60 with the Sanpera 2 pedal?

If 60 is the absolute maximum, realistically, that you can gig with, why do we have >200w? XD

Tube amps aren't lower then solid-state amps. They just sound louder because they sound more natural to the ear then SS.

Though, not all tube amps sound better then SS amps. They both have their place.

And I think you should get the Vypyr Tube 60 with the Sanpera 2.

The Vetta and Flextone are SS. Don't say they're tube because they aren't. And yes he said he wanted built in effects, but he was just correcting you on your SS/tube mistake. Calm down.

Okay good I think I'm going to get the Vypyr tube 60 then. Thanks for the help!
