Do you think using a cleaner such as WD-40 and or Rem oil w/ Tefelon,
will take off the [EXP] coating on the strings?

First off WD-40 is NOT a cleaner, it's lubricator that should never, ever go anywhere near your guitar. I don't know what rem oil is but the word "oil" is making me think twice about using for anything guitar-related also... They make products specifically designed to clean strings.

Maybe, but I wouldnt try it.

I think he's wondering if cleaning them with that stuff will take it off, like, he doesn't want it to take it off, and he's wondering if it will.

Yes, and of course you be careful when putting it on, have been doing it for years
however I only used "Rem oil" which is a gun-cleaner and lubricator.

you have it spot on I don't want to take coating off!!

I have been using Rem oil then dunlop 65 for years
with a microfiber cloth and have made strings last 3 months
like new, and my hands are very corrosive

just curious on the coating strings
