So, I've been thinking about what would yield the best tonal improvements to my rig lately. I have the best part of 700AUD to play with, that's about 630US.

I play pretty much everything but am geared more towards Hard Rock and Modern Metal sorta stuff, a little bit of Hardcore thrown in as well.

Overdrive: BB Preamp, Rockbox Boiling Point, Bloody Murder. Something nice like that
EQ: MXR M-108. It's a Staple
Speakers: 2 or 4 V30's for my 1960A?
Pickups: Was thinking Bareknuckles, recommendations on specific models?

So yeah, Throw me your recommendations of combinations of these (or anything that you think would work better) under 600US

Bit more gain would be nice. Was retubed 6 months ago. Maybe a little more pronounced in the bass and shave back the Ice Picky highs of the G12T's.

If you think the12GT's are ice picky, I'd say V30's aren't a good idea.

Is your amp still stock, then, other than tubes?
A lot of people like to remove the bright cap across the volume control. Makes the high end more tame, and the amp sounds better without cranking it up.
Here's a pic:

It's the capacitor labeled #2.
