Okay, so it's new tube time, and I need new ones...FAST! (I'm stuck on my MG10 )

I know tubes can morph the tone of the amp slightly and I was wondering if it was possible to buy some tubes that would squeeze in a little more gain? I'm also looking for more metal-y tones.

I know the easier way to do this is to get a new amp and all, but just bear with me. I haven't got much money at the moment and I really love my C30.

One more question: Do I have to set the bias on this amp, or not?

You don't have to bias the Classic 30. I'd put JJ tubes in it if it were me

Know any website where I can buy them from? I honestly have looked for JJs all over Guitar Center and Musicians Friend. I didn't see any.

My local music store tried to sell me a quad set of GTs for $140. I'm not going there again...

EDIT: Never mind...My stupidity made me over-look the JJs...

If you like the JJ's bottom end punch, try Svetlana Winged Cs - all the big low end but with a midrange that's less pushy without sacrificing girth and clearer top end.

you order them from eurotubes.com Bob has complete tube packages for all amps. The hi-gain tube pkg for the CL 30 is $99. He IS the JJ distributor.
