I write songs from my jam sessions.for example I will be jamming and suddenly I will find a melody or chord progression that sounds really good,I will hum words to it.then later on write lyrics on it,depending what my mood was when I first recorded the music.but I find it difficult to duplicate the original feeling.it seems the moment of inspiration is gone forever.
Do you guys/gals have or had the same experience and what do you do about it.specially those of you who perform their music live.

Yes, exactly. I think that if you're playing the same thing and you're just not digging it anymore then it probably wasn't that good to begin with.

Yeah and the mediocre things get stuck in my head. I think it's that they are the good things that just aren't developed.
