the epiphone les paul tribute models 2010 and 1960 were released recently and I was wondering if anyone had tried if any1 has bought (or had a go) on one of the models (the cherry sunburst one in-particular as I MAY be interested in buying it :P)

Ultimate guitar hasnt got a review for it yet and was wondering if any1 has picked either or the models up? if so whats the difference between the 1960 and 2010 model :S?

thanks

I wouldn't play it, I'd hang it.

The trapezoid bridge has intonation problems.
Have heard it before, through a nice rig it's heavenly.

Well then my bad lol.

It's just an overpriced epi IMO.

You could buy a much better guitar for the price.

Exactly, all you're buying is an overpriced Epi Standard.

right thanks... ive noticed some slight differences between the 1960 model and 2010 one.. the 2010 one has "Asymmetrical neck" and the 1960 has 'Slim taper neck"

does anyone know the difference :S? other than tht they r exactly the same...

i probably wont get it if its just an over priced epi.. but i mean im curious bout the difference 4 future reference

Taper mean it gets wider/thinner, depends how you wanna look at it.

It gets wider at the neck joint and tapers in.

Slim means thinner.
The 10 models are just normal fat ass necks.

So are the les paul tribues > or < than eg. EPIPHONE LES PAUL STANDARD 1959 faded tobacco?

im a bit of a need with guitar specs. :P

there are differences between a normal epi and the tribute.

for one, the tribute has the long neck tenon and much better electronics all around.

nice guitar tht looks so awesome! i am so getting one now! :P

dos any1 know what FTB stands for thought?
#14
such a waste of money for an epi standard.

i mean really you can buy an epi standard, put whatever pups you want, replace the hardware, and buy some strings and spend less.

but i have no clue what im talking about

buy an Epi standard les paul and equip it to your specs..

I'm sure it sounds great and plays well, but I can't lie, imo I really dislike the look of it. I know that looks aren't everything, but for a guitar that is advertised as a 1959 style guitar, the finish is really off.

But that's just me, I've never liked Epiphone's cherry sunbursts.

yeh tht makes a lot of sense tbh.. u seem to know what ur talking bout westdywolf :P

but tbh i wouldnt know what i was doing!! what to buy etc and how to do it! and its kinda of harsh to expect ppl to show me how 2 do this sort of stuff n all lol.. so i was kinda just looking 4 a pre-made thing..

also i love the tobacco finish on the 1959 FTB (whtever FTB means :P)

do u just buy a guitar n do ur own specs?

< or > are matters of opinion, of which yours matters most. I'm not a fan of either epi offering. exact specs are on the epi web site.

my usual rec would be either save up for a gibby, or settle on a PRS SE which is a damn nice guitar.

good luck.

Edit: my guess at FTB is faded tobacco burst...
