Sorry, but chances are, that with a Squier Bullet Strat it'll be pretty difficult to sound alright for anything

well im a beginner so itll be fine to start out. ive been playing all the stuff ive learned on acoustic ,so i think any electric guitar will sound better for distorted stuff and metal than a straight up acoustic. lol. im planning on upgrading the bridge pick-up to a Alnico Fat Pat Boutique Humbucker(http://store.guitarfetish.com/alfatpafbohu.html) and getting a peavy vypyr 15. then a pedal of some sort. lol.... think about Master of Puppets,seek and destroy, and symphony of destruction on acoustic. lol

take the extra money, put it into new tuners.

get the peavey and skip the pedal, it's a modeling amp.
