The thick kind. I wouldn't put anything thinner than 10-52, but you'll have to experiment and see what feels good for you.

If you are going Drop C and lower, not higher, try some Ernie Ball Not Even Slinky's. Worked for me from D Standard to Drop A.

I have dean markley medium in my ibanez and worked with drop z lol joke but seriously, I went drop A and had amazing tone

I use .012-.054 on a 25.5" scale guitar and I find them to be too thick in drop C. They are good for drop A though.
