If someone offered you a million dollars to give up guitar and to never pick it, or any other musical instrument, up ever again would you do it?
#4
Hell yeah I'd take the money, I'm horrible at keeping promises.
Currently Looking For:

Money can't buy back the ability to hear music the way I did before I began playing.

Nah I'm probably gonna make 100 times that much when I go solo...

But really no. Guitar makes me happy, and I doubt a million dollars would be able to buy anything that brings me the pleasure of just chillin and playin guitar

Yeah, I guess I missed that part. So I guess not. I'd only want to spend the money on guitar stuff anyway.
#18
Nope, without guitar I wouldn't have anything to spend money on.

I can't imagine what I'd buy other than things related to music, so I don't think so, given certain circumstances.

If I say owed someone a lot of money with my life on the line then I guess I would take it. (but I would have my fingers crossed)
#21
yea i would i use to been keen then school music ****ed me up people play pop shit and get good marks and the music teachers suck balls im in a band now but eh $1 million dollars is alot of money. i have other hobbies
#22
Compromise - quit guitar only for $500k. Then I'd pick up either violin, piano, or drums.
#23
No. Like somebody above mentioned, you hear music differently after you play an instrument. Everything has a much deeper sound to it, in my opinion... And to the person that said what would you do with a million dollars thats so great anyways, I'd invest it and make 2 million dollars, and then even more in the following years.
#25
I can honestly say I wouldn't take the money. I'd much rather making a hard living off of something that I love rather than easy living for not doing something that I love.
#26
**** no, I sold my car to buy a guitar ... and I miss my F--king car!! In fact, I just moved clear across country and the only thing's I brought with me were my amp, my Ibanez and a cardboard box of clothes.
#27
if someone oftffered me a milliomns dollars... io would buy chesse
I am a postmodern vegetarian, I eat meat ironically.
#28
yeah.....playing is fun and all but a million dollars.....not even something I have to think about. Sure I would've loved to buy some guitar shit but cmon. A MILLION DOLLAR!. Thats a house. TVs. Cars everything. I could go to fancy operas and orchestras to make up for it

You can buy whatever guitar you want, you don't have to be at a certain skill level to buy one. This is real life, not some guitar-playing RPG where you have to unlock new guitars.

nah. no point in having nothing to spend the money on that'll make you happy

Crazed Millionaire: You there! I've lost my mind!
You: Is that so? Do go on...
Crazed Millionaire: I'm giving you the chance to keep one million dollars, But! If you choose to accept my offer, you must never play a guitar or any musical instrument at all for that matter!!
You: Sure thing, pops.
Crazed Millionaire: Excellent!! Here is your cash prize... *shuffles out a briefcase*
You: Hey thanks, this will really help.

Crazed Millionaire: What are you going to do young buck?! Tell me! Tell your papa!!
You: Hire and orchestra and get that grand piano I've been always been dreaming of.
Crazed Millionaire: Whaaaaaat?! The deal was to-
You: Listen holmes, you never declared a pinky-promise at all to this. You lose. Good day.
Crazed Millionaire: Gah!! If only I had finished law school... *collapses*

1 million really isn't that much. Yeah, you could buy a house, a car, and stuff. But am I the only one that knows you'd end up having to pay taxes on that, before you could buy anything with it? I guarantee that you'd be left with less then 600,000. And then what will you buy? A house, a nice car, then that's about it.

So, yeah, no. Not worth it. Not even for a higher sum of money, I don't think I could buy back the pleasure of playing guitar.

Sure. Now if you said I can never sing or play piano anymore, hell no. Besides what will he do if I don't keep the promise? Without consequences I don't see why I shouldn't just take the money, then turn around and play a victory solo.

No. Money disappears, music is forever.

O, how poetic of me.

Your quote in my sig is more poetic

Edit: Oh I can't play any musical instruments, then no. Besides 1 mil isn't that much.
